Culture
In Radstadt (Pongau) the 20th film festival on the topic of “Heimat” opened on Wednesday in the Zeughaus am Turm. The Pongau community will become a cinematic center until Sunday. There are 25 feature films, documentaries and short films from all over the world on the program.
As part of the 20th Radstadt Film Festival, eleven Salzburg premieres, six Austrian premieres and two world premieres will be shown. The small film festival revolves around the topic of “home”. For example, it is about clichés, the generation change, the sellout of home as well as loss, flight or longing for home.
The festival also picks up on how the CoV crisis characterizes this term, said the director, Elisabeth Schneider: “The last year in particular has shown us how important it is, how we live, how we deal with our environment and our habits The festival has therefore acquired a new dimension, because the pandemic has also become a big topic for filmmakers. “
Small film festival, big program
The Radstadt Film Festival shows current films that were supposed to flicker on the big screen last year. In 2020 the festival was canceled due to the CoV pandemic. Some films can be seen in the coming days.
The program also includes numerous Austrian and Salzburg premieres and even two world premieres. “I am very proud of that, because it is a sign that we are well networked and that filmmakers appreciate being able to present films at small festivals. There are a lot of guests who are very happy to discuss and deal with the content and productions, “said the manager happily.
The film festival was opened, among other things, with the Austrian premiere by the Bavarian director Hans Steinbichler “Hannes”. This is a film adaptation of a novel based on Rita Falk.
