archiweb.cz – Bedrich Feuerstein: architect Prague-Paris-Tokyo
The generously designed exhibition by curator Helena Čapková in an architectural installation by David Vávra presented the life and fascinating scope of Bedřich Feuerstein’s work. For the first time, Feuerstein’s work in architecture, scenography, theatrical costume and graphic, applied and furniture design will be in a comprehensive form of life. The exhibition will be on view from November 10, 2021.
At the exhibition, the visitor will also see a number of paintings, which are not normally exhibited, that fulfill the artistic work of his contemporaries. Audio and video recordings are reminiscent of film work, Feuerstein’s essay and lecture activities, and collaborations with poets and musicians. It will be possible to look into the family facilities of Bedřich Feuerstein and the objects he used or bought during his travels will be exhibited. The curator of the exhibition, Helena Čapková, also pays attention to Feuerstein’s deployment in the First World War, the French (1920–26) and Japanese periods (1926–30) and work for theater in the 1920s (eg for the National Theater in Prague) and in the 1930s. (collaboration with the Liberated Theater). The architectural work presents several models or technical documentation from the Archive of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the NTM, which manages the largest personal fund of this personality.
