Toulouse: The street artist Petite Poissone talks about love at the Quai des Savoirs
Emmanuelle, alias Petite Poissone is exhibiting her words of love at the Quai des Savoirs until November 7.
Coming from the world of comics and nourished by illustration, Emmanuelle, alias Petite Poissone, exhibits her stickers on the containers of the Quai des Savoirs, its buildings and its square. “As far back as I go back to my childhood, I can see myself drawing, writing,” remembers this very discreet street artist. Little stories of a day, heard here and there, bits of conversation heard, thoughts always sudden… I have one or two notebooks a month. And then one day, after having followed the Beaux-Arts courses in Caen and written a few books, I wanted to stick texts in the streets, quirky and absurd sentences born in these notebooks ”.
The audience followed me straight away. He likes this peaceful approach.
Not so absurd sentences that make people think, laugh passers-by. Who mainly question. “In fact, I like the idea of intervening, very fleetingly, a bit like a light breath, in people’s lives, by surprise, derision or humor”.
Neat sentences, written in a graphic spirit, resembling signage and which often speak of disillusioned love, with a touch of irony and second degree. “There are also more political phrases, but in Toulouse I favored those about love”.
The public has always been kind to Petite Poissone, “from the outset they were won over and followed me on social networks. I respect the places, moreover my texts can be removed easily. These harmless and peaceful phrases touch everyone, at all ages and are especially good at this time ”. By the way, why the name of Petite Poissone? ” There is no reason. A provisional name came like that while waiting to take another. It was the first name of my site on the Net ”. On November 5, she invites the public to participate in the creative platform of the Quai by pasting spray-on texts on fabric bags and T-shirts. And on November 6 and 7, for the closing of the Festival Lumières sur le Quai, to participate in the workshop. Before leaving for Paris, exhibit at Galerie Roussard.
