“One of the legends of the Prague Zoo died today with the age of aging: the female sea lion of the South African Bara,” the Prague Zoo wrote on its website.
A female from nature came to the garden in Prague at the end of 1991. “Like the famous Gaston or Julinka,” adds the Zoo.
The sea lion Gaston swam during the floods of 2002 and reached as far as Germany. The exhausted animal eventually died.
Bara was probably born in 1990 and lived to an extremely old age of 31. In the wild, sea lions live up to twenty years.
“A group of sea lions consists of a male Melon, his mother Julinka, Wendy and Abeba with their cub. Sea lions are extremely intelligent and playful animals, “says the zoo.
