Stella, at the Liburna, the tricolor ground R1 is played
The last act of the Italian Rally Terrain Championship will see the driver from Brentino Belluno, thanks and a good debut at San Marino, vying for the final class success.
Brentino Belluno (VR), 02 November 2021 – Galeotto was the San Marino Rally, twice and in addition to having made Manuele Stella fall in love with the guide on the dirt road, the appointment with the Republic of Titano, closed with the R1 class victory, it translated into the opportunity to compete for the Italian Rally Terrain Championship, in the last and decisive round at Liburna Terra.
Scrolling through the provisional ranking of the ACI Sport R1 Cup, as part of the tricolor dedicated to lovers of low-grip surfaces, the driver from Brentino Belluno is currently in second place, in cohabitation with Cagni and Zanin, just seven points behind the leader Bardin.
A painting that, giving everything to everything in a dry race, could reserve some nice surprises.
“The San Marino Rally bewitched me” – says Stella – “and, despite having continued to race in the Suzuki Rally Cup, the desire to return to earth became more and more insistent. Thanks to the victory we have obtained, combined with a little luck that never hurts, we find ourselves able to play the Italian R1 championship in the last race. We have only seven points to recover from Bardin and we are level on points with Cagni and Zanin. It is a very short ranking and in fact even those who follow us are very close. We know we have very little experience on clay, excluding San Marino and the recent Marche, but we have also shown that we can be competitive so we believe in it and we will try until the last test. “
After an unfortunate start in the Raceday Rally Terra, stopped at the Marche already in the initial stages due to a technical problem, the Best Racing Team rider will return to the wheel of Baldon Rally’s Suzuki Swift R1 turbo, sharing the cockpit with Sara Refondini, on his right. .
“The fact of returning to racing on earth makes me happy” – underlines Stella – “and it is a fundamental aspect for my way of experiencing races. We went from Yokohama to Pirelli and the difference was felt a lot. Our package is always the same and I am sure that, with Sara at my side and Baldon Rally following me, I will do very well. “
Nine special stages are competing for the curtain to bring down the curtain on the 2021 CIRT season, starting with the Friday aperitif, the “Tenuta di Canneto” (2.36 km).
On Saturday the real battle, two steps in sequence on the triptych consisting of “Riparbella” (9.21 km), “Serraspina” (5.62 km) and on the iconic “Ulignano” (13.08), and then the day with the repetition of the last two and a total of just under seventy-seven kilometers of the race.
“I’ve never raced here before” – concludes Stella – “and this will certainly penalize us. From the videos it does not seem the gravel of the Marche but not even the all disastrous of San Marino. The bottom should not be male but a lot will depend on the passage of those in front of us. We will try to give a hard time for the title, hoping to be able to finish the CIRT with a flourish. “
