Cours Lafayette is closed to traffic since November 2, 2021 and until February 2022 between rue Ney and boulevard Jules Favre for the carrying out of development works.
A portion of nearly 250 meters closed to traffic
A new phase of work is opening on the northern part of Boulevard Vivier-Merle between Rue de Bonnel and Cours Lafayette. Thus, for three months on the latter, traffic was interrupted on a section of nearly 250 meters.
Only motorists and truck drivers are affected by the closure: the circulation of buses, pedestrians and cyclists is maintained.
As detailed on the map above, deviations are put in place for vehicles coming from the west of Cours Lafayette.
- For heavy goods vehicles via Garibaldi then Bonnel streets,
- For light vehicles via Ney, Louis Blanc, Fournet and Lalande streets.
Development works
With this work, the Métropole de Lyon and the local public company (SPL) Lyon Part-Dieu wish to create “new roads with better distribution of traffic between cars, public transport and bicycles“, To offer a continuous route for cyclists between Cours Lafayette and rue Paul Bert.
In addition to this cycle, these new band works, new bus shelters, wider sidewalks, the installation of 120 bicycle poles and two Velo’v stations, benches, public lighting as well as the planting “100 to 120 trees”.
