According to police, the accident happened before 6:30 pm in Ječná Street at the intersection with Štěpánská Street. “A young man hit by a car is in serious condition,” the Prague rescue service announced on Twitter at half past six. The young man was first revived by witnesses to the accident, then rescuers tried to save his life for more than an hour, unfortunately unsuccessfully.

The driver of the car drove away from the scene of the accident, the police are now looking for him.
DPP stated on its website that due to the intervention of the components of the integrated rescue system in the event of an accident, the operation of tram lines 4, 6, 10, 16 and 22 was restricted. The company advised people to use the subway.
