“3-G rule”: testing in leisure time or at work
Coronavirus
The “3-G rule” has been in effect in the workplace since November 1st. That means only those who have been vaccinated, tested and recovered are allowed to enter the workplace. According to the Chamber of Labor, unvaccinated employees must be tested in their free time if it is reasonable and there is a sufficient number of options.
There is still a transition period until mid-November. Anyone who presents “3-G proof” at the workplace during this time can wear an FFP2 mask at all times.
The first tightening will take effect in mid-November. Instead of “3-G”, only “2.5-G” are then valid. That is, when tested & can show a PCR test result, the rapid tests are no longer valid. To this end, the State of Salzburg expanded the free PCR test offer.
Free time or working time – when is the “test time”?
When asked when employees
Having it tested – in your free time or during your working hours – answers Heimo Typplt, labor law expert at the Salzburg Chamber of Labor: “If it is reasonable and if there are enough offers, then it will be possible in the free time when. If not, then from our point of view there would be a legal reason for being unable to work, that is, I can do it during working hours and then it has to be paid. “
The employer is primarily responsible for checking the evidence. The federal government says that samples would be sufficient. Penalties are imposed in the event of violations. Employees have to pay up to 500 euros, companies up to 3,600 euros.
