When will Moldova start using the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline
Asked by Romanian journalists if gas can be delivered to Moldova through the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, Andrei Spinu stated that he did not deliver gas commercially through this pipeline. He also said that during this period one million and a half m3 of gas entered through the Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline to increase the pressure in the gas transmission system in the Republic of Moldova.

Andrei SPINU, MINISTER OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT: “In September, we mentioned that from October, the gas could already flow through the Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline. It is true so far, Romania has not commercially delivered gas through this pipeline. At the same time, I repeatedly mentioned and thank Minister Virgil Popescu and Mr. Ion Sterian from Transgaz that during this period one and a half million m3 of gas entered through the Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline to increase the pressure in the gas transmission system in the Republic of Moldova. . .
Gazprom owns the transmission pipelines in the Republic of Moldova through Moldovagaz – this is true, but the market rules, which have already been approved by ANRE, oblige Moldovatrangaz to deliver the gas through transport and for this ANRE has also set a price. From now on, any company that wants to bring gas to Moldova through the Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline or another gas pipeline can do so. “
The Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spinu, spoke today in a press conference about the results of the negotiations for the delivery of natural gas in the Republic of Moldova.
