Halloween celebrations escalated in Salzburg and Wals
Several brawls broke out on Monday night in the city of Salzburg and in Wals (Salzburg-Umgebung district). As the police reported, a man in Salzburg was injured by four strangers with fist blows and kicks and in Wals of the officials went on several missions in and in front of bars.
At around 11 p.m. on Halloween evening, a 26-year-old Croat was killed by four perpetrators on Schwarzstrasse in Salzburg attacked. The strangers hit the man with fists and kicks for unknown reasons and fled unexpectedly. The 26-year-old was admitted to the Salzburg accident hospital.
Beat ready for hospital
Shortly before midnight, two groups of about ten people had a fight in front of a pub Whale. Subsequently, the brawl moved to an adjacent underground car park, where it was stopped by the police.
The Austrians, Turks and North Macedonians involved, aged between 18 and 26, were injured and admitted to the Salzburg University Hospital and the Salzburg Accident Hospital.
Around three o’clock, an intoxicated 37-year-old anifer hit a 20-year-old from Bergheim with his fist in the face for an unknown reason. The man was able to escape, but was stopped and reported by the police shortly afterwards.
A 17-year-old from Kufstein was also injured by a punch at around 4 a.m. Whale. A pair of brothers from Mattighofen (26 and 30 years old) injured the young man, were then able to escape first, but were also stopped and reported by the police after a brief search. The two men did not confess, one of them had more than one per thousand alcohol in his blood.
Chainsaw “only for the photo”
The Vorarlberg police did a few missions on Halloween night, but basically spoke of a “peaceful night”. The events corresponded to the long-term average, it said.
There were house walls and vehicles pelted with eggs, disputes in two nightclubs and in Feldkirch a running chainsaw without a chain – which, however, should only be used for a photo, as young people asserted.
In addition to the chainsaw, the youngsters were also equipped with laser pointers. They just wanted to take pictures for social media, they told the police.
In Lauterach (Bregenz district) youngsters disguised as Halloween ghosts set a trash can on fire.
Super Mario attacked 53-year-olds
In the old town in Linz a 53-year-old from the Ried district was molested, attacked and pushed to the ground by several young people at 8:40 p.m. Then a perpetrator disguised as “Super Mario” is said to have kicked him in the face, the Upper Austria police reported.
The man, who was bleeding profusely from his nose, was admitted to the Kepler University Hospital in Linz after the first aid. The perpetrators fled.
Hotspot Wiener Neustadt
The Lower Austrian police drew a “cautiously positive” interim balance after Halloween night. The situation in the state was “relatively calm,” said chief inspector Johann Baumschlager to the APA.
Was considered a hotspot Wiener Neustadt, where physical injuries, violations of the Youth Protection Act and noise caused by firecrackers were recorded, especially in the area of inner-city locations.
People in Baumschlager are taken to hospital after several clashes. One person had a softgun with him and was “acted as an official”.
Pyrotechnics of categories F2, F3 and F4 had a group of eight to twelve year olds in Deutsch-Wagram (Gänserndorf district) in the luggage, with an age limit of 18 years and over for the last two categories. The children ignited Swiss crackers, “which is generally forbidden in the local area,” as Baumschlager emphasized. 132 pyrotechnic objects were seized.
“Trick or Treat” apparently went in St. Pöltner Spratzern district crooked: Here a house facade was pelted with eggs. A scuffle also broke out in Bruck an der Leitha registered.
Halloween night was not untouched by Covid-19 this year either. A party in the Wiener Neustädter Arena Nova was attended by a person, who according to Baumschlager was ultimately tested positive for Corona. However, a negative test was presented that fall.
