Alarm for damaged pylon Overpass – Genova Ovest: ramp forbidden to lorries
The circulation of vehicles over 3.5 tons was forbidden on the slip road ramp which leads to the elevated road and the Genova Ovest toll booth “due to a possible deterioration of a pylon”.
Reportedly, one of the portals near via Cantore has a state of superficial corrosion in the central part.
On the carriageway after the toll booth, a narrowing of lanes has been foreseen.
The alarm for the conditions of the pylon that supports the helicoidal went off last night, when the local police officers ordered a ban on the transit of trucks.
The exit of heavy vehicles from the Ethiopia gate was diverted to via Milano vecchia and then via Dino Col from which heavy vehicles must reach the Genoa Airport toll booth.
At the moment, “risks of collapse” have been excluded. Today or tomorrow the technicians will start the first checks on the pylon considered to be in some way “damaged” and on the helicoidal.
For this week, structural checks were already planned on one of the structures that support the viaduct near via Cantore, at the bend after the Novotel building in the direction of the motorway tollbooth.
In recent days, near the Porto Antico, a large cable had fallen and four passers-by were injured.
