Acqua & Sapone Roma returns to victory! Florence folded in four sets
On the pitch of the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome, Acqua & Sapone found an important victory against Massimo Bellano’s Bisonte Firenze (3-1 19-25; 25-23; 25-20; 25-17). After a subdued first set, the Wolves, strengthened by a Klimets in great shape elected MVP of the match with 28 points on the scoresheet, hung up the bisontines to then overcome them and keep the decisive distances that earned the second victory of the season and the first within the walls of the house.
The solidity against the wall and the resolution in the opposing phases made the difference in the Giallorossi half where the entire sextet led by Lena Stigrot has stemmed the opponent’s game.
Acqua & Sapone in the field with Bugg in the direction and Klimets on the diagonal, Trnkova ‘and Ceconello in the center, Stigrot and Pamio in the band and Venturi free; Florence with Nwakal or opposite to Cambi, Central Sylves and Belien, Sorokaite and Van Gestel crushers and free Panetones.
1st SET The start of the set proceeds in balance until 5-5 when Florence presses the accelerator with Van Gestel and Sorokaite pulling full arm (7-11). A foul on the net by Belien, however, seems to give hope to the hosts: with Bugg on duty there are three points that the Wolves recover until they get back on 11-11. Klimets’ offensive play and Venturi’s defenses are not enough: Rome is caught unprepared, forcing coach Saja to stop everything at 14-17. Upon returning to the field, the Giallorossi coach did not find the desired reaction and Florence took off undisturbed until 19-25.
2 ° SET Florence returns to the field with the same interpreters of the previous set and with the same offensive charge she slides quickly on the scoreboard. Rome, however, is always there until the attack by Stigrot who re-establishes the balance on the 7-7. Nwakalor responds in a tone that proves to deserve the wide trust of director Cambi. The two teams proceed in pairs until Cecconello from nine meters stitches up and signs the overtaking (15-13). The hosts of Casano struggle, but test the advantage and convince with Klimets and until 25-23
3rd SET As in the previous set, Florence restarts strong and Rome still keeps the pace (8-8). The bisontine find in the mani-out a winning card to take countermeasures. The game proceeds point by point with many errors from nine meters for both teams and as many high level actions such as the defenses of Panetoni and the trip of Stigrot which is worth 15-14. Bellano, under two, recalls his own, but without finding the desired extension: Knollema’s entry is not enough and Pamìo’s lob keeps his distance (19-17). Klimets from place two accomplished the prodigy and dragged the entire Giallorossi half to him, including Stigrot who signed the 25-20 and in Rome also the third set.
4th SET The start of the fourth fraction is anomalous with the Wolves immediately in command (7-4). At a time when Rome concedes nothing, Nwakalor plays all the shots available, but the scoreboard rules +5 (14-9) with Bellano stopping everything. The double change with Enwonu and Bonciani grants a little oxygen to the bisontine which, however, even with Graziani’s broadsides, manages to hold the table. Captain Stigrot takes everything from the first and second line, sending the opposing reconstruction into confusion (21-11). In the control room Cambi tries every solution but the Wolves with Pamio’s arm take the set (25-17) and the fifth day of the championship.
Hanna Klimets, opposite of Acqua & Sapone Roma Volley Club and MPV of the match:
“This victory was really important for us especially today when we returned to play within the walls of the Palazzo dello Sport in Rome. We had some small problems, but with a winning mentality and a game of intelligence we got out of all the difficulties, especially in the defense phase where we felt the support and energy of all the spectators. It’s just a first step towards a bigger future. “
Stefano Saja, coach of the Acqua & Sapone Roma Volley Club:
“I’m very happy. It’s been a while since I thought we needed to unlock. We work a lot in training and it seemed that in the match we couldn’t make the most of what we did during the week. Today we managed to bring a real home win and three points that are very important. It is a solidity that gives us so much confidence for the future. An important occasion also for the Acqua & Sapone for Charity event which for us is a way to be close to women and fight the fight against violence against women. “
