“Self-determination is necessary and it is important for us to decide our fate, so it is not others who tell us what to do, where to go, or it is their strength to control our forces, but it is up to us, the Szekler people, to decide.” Judge Edith, President of the Szekler National Council in Odorheiu Secuiesc, stated.
In Sepsiszentgyörgy, the flame of autonomy flared up in a private event in a place visible from all over the city.

“Let us warn Bucharest with our guard fires that the flame can be seen there, the flame of our demand for autonomy. And let us also warn the European legislators, because the aspirations of globalization have been fully taken up and they do not represent the aspirations of indigenous national communities at all. ” shouted Zoltán Gazda, chairman of the Szekler Council of Sepsiszék.
The flame also broke out in Áron Tamási’s native village, Farkaslaka, Harghita County, where locals gathered on horseback, but in Makfalva, Mureş County, among others, a fire was lit among the Szeklers there.
The mayor of Csíkdánfalva and the municipal councils lit candles in the center of the village. Bőjte Csongor said: like many other autonomous provinces of the EU, Szeklerland has this special status.
“We don’t ask for more, we don’t ask for privilege, just what we deserve. As in other countries “ said the mayor.
A commemoration was also held in Tevel, Tolna County, in the sister settlement of the village of Szeklerland.
Due to the favorable epidemic management in Hungary, the traditional fire fires could have started here, at the same time as the candles were lit in Szeklerland.

“Since 2010, with our national governance, we can feel again that we are a strong nation. This is not only in our own interests, but also in the interests of the entire Central European region. This is well illustrated by the health assistance provided to Romania at the time of the epidemic. ” – device out of the safe.
