The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Russia for the first time since the start of the pandemic exceeded one million, reported on Sunday, October 31. This is 69.4% more than in the previous month and 127% more than in October 2020, the agency notes.
On Sunday, Russia again updated the maximum for coronavirus infection: the daily number of new infections reached almost 41 thousand. “Over a new night in Russia, there are 40 993 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in 85 regions, including 3622 (8.8%) actively detected without clinical manifestations,” the operational headquarters for combating coronavirus infection said on October 31.
In Russia, the peak rates of coronavirus infection are being updated for the fourth time in a week. The day before, 40,251 cases were reported, with an increase in all regions of the country. Most of the infected were newly detected in Moscow (7603), St. Petersburg (3597) and the Moscow region (2737).
Mortality from covid is kept at more than one thousand people per day for the 13th day in a row. Over the past 24 hours, another 1,158 patients have died from the coronavirus – two fewer than the day before. In total, 8,513,790 infections have already been registered in Russia during the pandemic, including 238,538 with a lethal outcome.
