Climbing with Madeiran participation in the Boulder Cup of Portugal

Madeira was represented by five climbers from Clube Aventura da Madeira in the first stage of the Portugal Boulder Cup, which took place yesterday in Porto.
The “São Bloc 21” event, suitable for 60 climbers, federated and non-federated, and disputed in the Boulder discipline (short routes of great difficulty) having marked a resumption of the competition organized by the Federation of Camping and Mountaineering of Portugal.
José Santos was highlighted by getting the 8th position in the “Contest” (qualifications), among the 45 participants in the men’s sector, a result that earned him the medal of third place among the federated participants.
It was just that José Santos didn’t get access to the final with the top six, finishing 13 blocks with top and 14 zones (bonus catches), getting one top of fourth place.
Filipe Sousa was in a very good plan, reaching the 11th position, with 12 tops and 13 zones. Steve Fernandes, making his debut in the competition, got 25th position with 10 tops and 13 zones, and Pedro Silva was 28th with 9 tops and 11 zones.
In the women’s competition, Nadia Meroni ended up making her debut in this discipline, having finished in 14th position.
