Athlete Ivan Siuris from the Republic of Moldova won the Bucharest 2021 International Marathon
The athlete Ivan Siuris from the Republic of Moldova won, on Sunday, the 2021 edition of the Bucharest International Marathon, finishing the 42.195 kilometers in 2 hours, 16 minutes and 35 seconds.
Former winner of the Chisinau Marathon, Siuris (30 years old), was followed by the Romanian athlete Alexandru Corneschi, who was timed in 2 hours 16 minutes and 49 seconds.
The last place on the podium went to Ognjen Stojanovic from Serbia, with 2 hours, 25 minutes and 18 seconds.
The women’s marathon race was dominated by Romanian athletes who completely took over the podium. The winner was Adela Paulina Bălţoi (29 years old), she crossed the finish line in 2 hours, 47 minutes and 25 seconds. The second place went to Ionela Ecaterina Puia, with 2 hours, 53 minutes and 44 seconds, and Anca Diana Istrate came in third, recorded with 2 hours, 55 minutes and 10 seconds.
In the half marathon (21,097 km), Maxim Răileanu (Rep. Moldova) won the men’s race in 01 h 06 min 05 sec, followed by Robert Necula, 01 h 08 min 57 sec, and Alexei Camenscic, 01 h 14 min 25 sec.
Diana Sinic won in the women’s, in 01 h 25 min 42 sec, followed by Diana Panța, 01 h 27 min 31 sec, and Maria Magdalena Veliscu, 01 h 28 min 00 sec.
The men’s 10 km race was won by Cristian Luțic, in 34 min 00 sec, followed in the ranking by Ruben De Vicente, 34 min 15 sec, and by Bogdan Holubaș, 34 min 40 sec, etc. In the women’s race, Mădălina Florea won, in 34 min 47 sec, followed by Elena Alexandrescu, 38 min 47 sec, and Maria-Gabriela Herman, 39 min 26 sec, etc.
Albert Lupu took first place in the men’s 5 km race (18 min 49 sec), followed by Marius Olteanu (20 min 18 sec) and Andrei Cristian Gavrilă (20 min 39 sec). Ina Cristina Ilie won in the women’s (22 min 48 sec), followed by Denisa Ştirbulescu (23 min 15 sec) and Andreea Cohuţ (24 min 16 sec).
At 10 km wheelchair, Ilie Ştefirţa (21 min 25 sec) emerged victorious, followed by Angel Moraru (39 min 35 sec) and Petru Ifrosa (45 min 26 sec). Florentina Hrişcu won the women’s (50 min 06 sec), followed by Roxana Ghineţ (01 h 16 min 59 sec).
The 2021 edition of Raiffeisen Bank Bucharest Marathon took place respecting the safety rules imposed by the Romanian authorities in the context of the pandemic.
Thus, only the runners vaccinated against the SARS-CoV-2 virus (for which 10 days have passed since the completion of the complete vaccination schedule) participated, as well as those who are in the period between the 15th and 180th the day after confirmation of Covid-19 virus infection. Also, the runners had to wear a protective mask in the first 100 meters from the start as well as at the finish. Spectator access was prohibited throughout an event.
