Will vaccination be mandatory for Debrecen municipal employees? – consult before making a decision
Mayor of Debrecen – Papp László talks with the heads of institutions and trade unions representing the interests of employees.
It was announced on Thursday that a government decision could require employers to vaccinate against the coronavirus in terms of working conditions if worker safety so required. This will be enforced by the state as an employer, and in the case of municipalities, the mayor may decide to prescribe the vaccination.

According to the announcement of the Debrecen Mayor’s Office on Saturday morning, the decision will be made as soon as possible after the last step of the legislation on November 1.
“Mayor László Papp agreed with the heads of institutions exercising the employer’s authority and the trade unions representing the interests of employees in order to make a well-founded decision”
they said.
Regarding the question of compulsory vaccination, Gergely Gulyás, the Prime Minister, said that the provision applies to two vaccinations, and there is a common practice of exempting him from vaccination, as he has already made vaccination compulsory in health care. The regulations are in line with this practice, with a medical certificate you can get an exemption for what would make your tooth harmful due to the vaccination.
If someone does not take the vaccine, it can be sent on unpaid leave, and if this situation and regulation is maintained for more than a year, the employment relationship can also be terminated.
