Jail for shooting in a phone shop in Amsterdam-Zuidoost
A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison by a court for shooting four times at another with a gas pistol in a telephone shop. He was slightly injured by a gunshot.
The incident happened on January 3 of this year in De Amsterdamse Poort. The shooting was sparked by an argument between the 21-year-old man’s girlfriend and the victim. At that time, the girlfriend made a video call with the 21-year-old man, who jumped on his bicycle and went to De Amsterdamse Poort.
Arrived there. The assailant followed him into the store and then fired again.
Attempted manslaughter
Of the four shots, two were aimed at the victim’s head. The court therefore finds attempted manslaughter proven. “He is not only for the case of a life-threatening situation, but also for the employees of the bell shop where the shooting took place.” The man is also in possession of a loaded firearm.
Psychological research has shown that the man has caused a personality disorder and antisocial behavior due to limited knowledge development. That is why it is issued on a light billable basis. A condition of his sentence is that he must, among other things, cooperate with forensic psychiatric supervision. In addition, he must pay compensation of 3,250 euros.
