[J14] Bastia – Amiens SC: the notes of the Amiénois
After their first victory at the Stade de la Licorne last week, Philippe Hinschberger’s men wanted to turn the clock on and therefore had to defeat Bastia in his lair in Furiani. But we should not count on a team from Amiens which did not display the expected level. A nice 0-0 as we like. the 11 Amienois gives you his notes of the match.
Man of the match Bastia – Amiens SC
Formosa Mendy (6.5): Once again, Formosa Mendy had a good game. He was intractable with his two acolytes in central defense. If he was the victim of a big mistake early in the game, he stayed on the field and started again. He practically did not let anything go, to engage seriously with his physique. With the Croatian and the Malian, he pushed back 90% of Corsican centers. A rock.
Notes from 11 Amienois
Régis Gurtner (6): Régis Gurtner made a good stop in the 28th minute then a good exit by advancing to the limit of his 16 meters in the first period. He then stopped all attempts at Bastia and therefore produced a second consecutive clean sheet. Good Regis Gurtner tonight.
Mickaël Alphonse (4,5): The Amiens right-back saved his people at the end of the first quarter of an hour. Apart from that and a good through pass for Bamba, he provided minimum service, unable to dribble or bypass the Corsican defenders to bring danger. Do better.
Mateo Pavlovic (5.5): The Croatian played a pretty good game. A small mistake on his part on an attempt to head into the area of a dangerous situation. All in all, he took some relief from his keeper by teaming up again with beefy Mendy and Fofana. Must continue to ramp up.
Mamadou Fofana (5.5): Mamadou Fofana was very serious in this match, defending well against valiant Bastians who rarely had the last word with him. Keep up the momentum.
Matteo Xantippe (5): The young Amiens had some difficulties in the first period, most of the Bastia actions falling to his side. He still has not been afraid of adversity and has made some nice runs, some good passes and combined with the men present in his zone. A good little game for someone who has not yet signed a professional contract.
Mathis Lachuer (4,5): Rather good at pressing, he made a valuable return to Talal in the 50th minute of play in the box. But he struggled to find the right passes forward. Replaced by Jessy Benet 25 minutes from the end. This one tried to bring his technique to Amiens, creating opposing faults. He managed a very dangerous strike following a good combination with Akolo and Bamba at the end of the game.
Emmanuel Lomotey (4): The Ghanaian has chained a new tenure in the middle. He almost missed everything in the first half. A little better in the second half. Must once again do better.
Arnaud Lusamba (4,5): Arnaud Lusamba had more difficulty in orienting the game this week, rather little Kader Bamba. However, he made a nice deep pass for Badji who could have opened the scoring. A little less good tonight.
Kader Bamba (5): The Amiens detonator did not really ignite the Amiens game in this meeting. He was very focused on defenders for a very long time and often stumbled. He always managed a nice center-shot at the half-hour mark and signaled a late-game strike, both repulsed by Vincensini. He was a little better found when Akolo and Benet entered. An average match for the one who lit up the match last week.
Aliou Badji (3.5): Badji will have missed out on success in this game, which is often what makes the difference between a good and a bad game for a top striker. He had three chances in this game: a first on a deep pass from Lusamba stopped by the goalkeeper, a nice strike near the post at the end of the first period and a last on a strike above the bar before the return to the changing rooms at half-time. 0/3 unfortunately. Replaced by Akolo in the 66th, who combined quite well with Bamba and Benet, leading to dangerous actions.
Philippe Hinschberger (4,5): Coach Hinschberger has chosen to renew the victorious 11 last week at the Unicorn. But that did not allow the Amiens to finish the match with an advantage in the score, the Amiens actions being quite numerous against an average team. The changes did not make it possible to make the decision, despite some good deeds from Benet, Akolo and Bamba. A match to forget.
The match (4,5): A small match for Amiens. A few shots, a few chances, but a feeling that the team was missing something to set the defense on fire. A lack of projections and combinations. A midfielder who had all the trouble in the world to build the game, the defense and the midfielder abusing long raises to Badji or Bamba. However, the Bastiais are not big names in Ligue 2 and could be taken.
Bastia (4,5): The Corsicans started the game well by dominating the debates and achieving a good first half hour with two scoring chances. They then tried to do their best by building the best they could. It was not a great Bastia, but that was enough to cast doubt on the Amiens who did not deserve to win. A goalless draw that does not do anyone’s business, Corsicans and Picards remaining in 18th and 19th ranks in Ligue 2 BKT.
The referee (5.5): Mr. Léonard rather well refereed this meeting in Corsican soil. He whistled many Bastiais faults at the start of the game. One of them led to a first yellow card in the 12th minute (Vincent). He was able to face the Bastiais who have always been challenged his decisions. He ended up sending a card to one of them for dispute at the very end of the match. Overall, he tried to explain his decisions to the players (Corsican). Amiens side, Pavlovic took an unnecessary yellow card.
