Will Morocco suspend its flights with Belgium?
Two regions of the country have turned dark red on the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) map, after it was updated on Thursday. This is Brussels, whose incidence rate as of October 28 is 670, said the Belgian Institute of Public Health, Sciensano. A region turns dark red when the incidence rate, which indicates the average number of new daily cases per 100,000 inhabitants over 14 consolidated days, is greater than 500, one explains. The second region is Wallonia. It went back to dark red this week because its incidence rate is over 500.

Flanders is, for the moment, in red due to an incidence rate between 200 and 500. However, it could be that it returns to dark red, the incidence rate having already exceeded 500 in four of the five northern provinces of the country. East Flanders is the only region whose incidence rate as of October 28 is 382.
These epidemiological data may push the Moroccan authorities to suspend air links between Morocco and Belgium. To date, the kingdom has banned flights with Russia, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom due to the worrying health situation in those four countries.
