Victims of domestic violence, women have designated their attackers but have to date no news of their case.
“Several of my clients have complained about serious matters and nothing is happening. We don’t understand ”.
Surrounded by his clients, victims of violence of which they know the author, Me Pierre Debuisson deplores the slowness or even the inexistence of responses to these traumatized women who relate, fear in their stomachs, their stories.
Djouher, 27, a complaint filed in June. “During the first assault, my ex and his new girlfriend came to beat me up, then there were death threats and phone calls. He recalled intimate photos and videos of me on social media ”. Consequently, Djouher lost his family and his friends. “I’m not safe especially since he found out where I work. I want justice to do its job. I am not well, I am afraid. He can do anything. Are they waiting for him to kill me? “
“I am told to take my pain patiently”
Beside him, Julianne, 23, suffered an ordeal with her ex. “I was 18 at the time. I lived with her, she was an alcoholic ”. And to list the abuse I received hair for six months: “I received gifts, she tore them from me, she kicked me against the sink, I was tied to a chair, she m ‘forced her to sleep against a radiator… It was like that every night ”. So Julianne answers on herself. “I, who was always pretty, kept my hair tied up to hide the holes. I put on loose clothing to hide the marks of the beatings. And all that was for anything like uncooked pasta ”. Julianne filed a complaint on February 14, 2020 for “domestic violence”. “I had contact with the investigator but I haven’t heard from him for 8 months. I am told verbatim to take my pain patiently ”.
Most recently, Maria * was leaving a nightclub with a friend when she bumped into her ex. She was hit against a sidewalk, punched. On October 10, 2021, she filed a complaint, also naming her attacker.
The three victims feel “insecure”. Their denunciation “a dysfunction of the judicial system. Without calling into question the quality of the work of public prosecutors, it is advisable to highlight these cases which are far from being isolated ”. Since March the new departmental director of public security, Jean-Cyrille Reymond, has set up a new organization of services. On occasion, he noticed “that thousands of cases were in stock, not broken, because the organization installed for years was not efficient enough”. And to promise now, “a better response to the victim”. These files will be processed.
