“Zürich is watching” in nightlife
On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, a panel discussion on the subject of harassment and assault in nightlife will take place in Labor5 in Zurich.
On Tuesday, November 9th, 2021, at 6 p.m., the City of Zurich, together with the Bar & Club Commission Zurich and GastroZürich-City, will organize a panel discussion in Labor5. The event is part of the Flirt, pick-up, assault? “Zurich is looking – together against sexism, homophobia and transophobia”.
City Councilor Karin Rykart opens the event. The actors from REACTOR Basel introduce the topic with interactive theater scenes.

Subsequent panel discussion
In the subsequent panel discussion, Alexander Bücheli, Managing Director of the Bar & Club Commission Zurich, Alain Mehmann, partner Klaus and Heaven Club, Mira Rojzman, artist and cultural worker and awareness trainer, Sofia Valderrama, Gastra Kollektiv Zurich, and a representative of the board of GastroZürich-City will discuss Harassment and assaults in nightlife and solutions for more security and respect.
The event is part of the project “Zurich is looking – Together against sexism, homophobia and trans-hostility”, which will focus on nightlife in autumn 2021.
A survey study carried out by Sotomo
A survey study carried out by Sotomo on behalf of the City of Zurich shows that more than every third woman between the ages of 16 and 35 is in an exit situation after 10 p.m. with uncomfortable and encroaching situations.
Homosexual and trans people are also frequently harassed and assaulted.
