“Wild boar hunting, a cruel and dangerous activity for everyone”
Position statement of the San Marino Animal Protection Association towards the practice of wild boar hunting.
Regarding the reporting published today in Libertas The hunt for the wild boar held yesterday on the border between Fiorentino and Valle Sant’Anastasio, theSan Marino Animal Protection Association (APAS) once again expresses its opposition to wild boar hunting, considering the practice of hunting above all, a bloodthirsty, cruel method, dangerous for people, for the dogs used to face the encircled wild boars, and ineffective in containing their number. The report of the lady resident in Valle Sant’Anastasio highlights the aggressiveness that lies behind this inhuman practice, aggression also aimed at people, who during the hunt, on the absurd claim of the hunters should stop their activities for not ” disturb ”that of the hunters! Not only that, everything becomes lawful, for example trespassing on private property, outside the state borders, hanging hunted signs on the fences of homes and so on. The APAS can only stigmatize such behaviors, the result of a retrograde mentality that of updating and acknowledging not only respect for life in a broad sense, considering non-bloody solutions for limiting the number of wild boars but also respect for privacy and freedom of others, rights that hunters regularly trample.
