Victor San Marino wants to relaunch against Cotignola • newsrimini.it
Fourth draw and three consecutive games without scoring in Excellence for Victor San Marino. Unfortunately, the biancazzurri of Mr. D’Amore are struggling a lot in finding effective solutions to abstinence from scoring and winning. Abstinence that unfortunately continues from the 1-0 win against Diegaro on 3 October and seems not to know well for now. From then on, in fact, Victor San Marino got an internal knockout suffered by Cava Ronco (0-2 the final result) and two away draws with white goals (0-0) against Tropical Coriano and Del Duca Grama: really too little if you want to try to make an excellent first year in Excellence.
And, in addition, there is very little time available to the San Marino club to lick their wounds and undertake to heal them: this Sunday afternoon a new round of the championship in which captain Barone and his teammates are called to prompt redemption against the Cotignola penultimate with 3 points in the classification of group C Emilia Romagna.
Only a victory against the Romagna team could allow Victor San Marino not only to sweep away the criticisms, discontent and, above all, the crisis of goals and results but also to relaunch his season.
The match, valid for the eighth day of the Italian championship of Excellence, will be played Stadium at the Acquaviva di San Marino at 2.30 pm on Sunday 31 October 2021 (ticket price: 10 euros for men, 5 euros for women, free for under 16s). The “third time” which allowed the Victor of San Marino to win the Fair Play Promotion Award, one of the awards conceived by San Marino National Fair Play Committee for World Fair Play Day. At the end of the match, a banquet will be set up, where the players and managers of the opposing team are invited, in order to transmit the healthy values of football and sport in general to as many people as possible.
Gianni D’Amore, coach of Victor San Marino, declares: “This draw represents two-three steps back compared to what was done last Sunday against Tropical Coriano. Ours was a bad performance, certainly the worst of the season. We must apologize to the company: it always makes great efforts to never miss anything, but we are not paying it back as it should be, neither with results nor with performance. We have interspersed good things with less good things in these first seven league games, but there has never been a continuity on our part: it is really too little that we have neglected. There is nothing to save from our performance against Del Duca Grama, what we got at the ‘Hurry up’ is an overwhelming point because our opponents were superior to us in all areas of the pitch, they played very good football and they played had the best chances. Despite the young age of many of their players, Del Duca Grama played an excellent game and if they didn’t win against us it’s just because of bad luck. The only thing we can do now is face next Sunday’s match and the following ones as if they were always the last resort for us. I don’t see other remedies: for us the match against Cotignola is like a final ”.
Riccardo Michelucci, midfielder of Victor San Marino, says: “We faced a very organized team on Wednesday afternoon in Castiglione di Ravenna that made the match difficult for us. When coach D’Amore deployed me on the pitch in the second half, I tried to do everything he asks of all of us: to play with the right mentality and the right determination. Even if for long stretches we played better than Del Duca Grama, unfortunately we didn’t manage to win the three points in the ‘Hurry’. Now, however, we must immediately roll up our sleeves to be able to beat Cotignola next Sunday in San Marino ”.
