The Entlisberg school complex in Zurich-Wollishofen is to be expanded by a new building with a sports hall in 2028. For the project planning, the city council applied for a loan of 3.76 million Swiss francs from the municipal council.
With an extension building including a simple sports hall on the Entlisberg school complex, the city will meet the growing need for school space in Wollishofen. It creates space for an additional nine primary and two kindergarten classes and enables the next 20 classes to be taught in day school.
The new building of the respective school house is still being built on a piece of land that the city has already acquired in an exchange deal with the Allgemeine Baugenossenschaft Zürich (ABZ). In addition to modern classrooms and supervision rooms, a cafeteria, rooms for music lessons and new break spaces are planned.
Provisional for the duration of the work
The sports hall should be available for care during off-peak times, and also for clubs in the evenings and on weekends. When construction is expected to start in 2025, the Züri Modular Pavilion will have to give way to the construction site.
For the duration of the work, a temporary solution is to be built at a location on the school premises. For the implementation of a competition and the execution of a construction project, the city council applies to the municipal council for a loan of 3.76 million francs (including reserves, cost accuracy +/- 25 percent).
This includes the tranche of CHF 100,000 already approved by the head of the building construction department.
