Russia re-elected to the Presidium of the Anti-Doping Conference in Sport – Sport
MOSCOW, October 28. / TASS /. The Russian Federation was re-elected to the presidium of the session of the conference of the International Convention against Doping in Sport. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Sports.
The Russian representative in this body will be the Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsin. The election of the Presidium took place during the meeting, which took place from 26 to 28 October at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. As a result of the closed conference, a third-party overwhelmingly supported the Russian Federation, which will be a member of the organization’s presidium until 2023.
In addition to Russia, Ukraine also claimed a place on the presidium. The presidium eventually included Russia, Senegal, China and Saudi Arabia. Representative of the Dominican Republic, Marcos Diaz, was re-elected by the new presidium; Hitesh Patel from Great Britain retained the post of rapporteur.

For the first time, Russia was elected to the presidium of the conference of the International Convention against Doping in Sport in 2019 at the joint seventh session. In October last year, the first meeting of the presidium of the seventh session of the presidium was held in Moscow, in June 2021 – a meeting of the committee for the approval of the project of the UNESCO fund for the elimination of doping in sports. In 2022, a meeting of the presidium of the eighth session is planned in Russia.
