In June 2021, along the road from Caen to Lion-sur-Mer, where a new roundabout (that of the Grosse Devise in Colleville-Montgomery is built), a first phase consisted of removing land for studies of soils. “As with all industrial constructions,” explains Patrick Dechaufour who, along with five other farmers, lead the Agri Métha Nacre project. “Soundings were carried out to test the resistance of the future structure. Archaeological excavations had developed two years ago. “
At the moment, construction machinery is busy building the roads and the foundations of the tanks. On this 3 ha site, 2 hangars, 3 tanks and a storage area will be created.
“It takes a year of construction”, estimates Patrick Dechaufour who hopes “for commissioning at the end of 2022.”
