In Russia, they wanted to legalize the private sector of housing for tourists: Russia: Travel: Lenta.ru

Booking.com’s service for booking and other accommodation facilities to participate in the legalization of the private sector of tourist accommodation in Russia. About this in an interview with RBC declared General Director of the Russian branch of the company Alexei Matushkin.

According to him, he supports the idea of introducing licenses in the private sector – apartments, apartments and houses. Matushkin noted that this practice is already in many European countries.

“For example, in Paris or Barcelona, the authorities want to limit the number of reservations a property can receive. There is no such problem in the Krasnodar Territory yet, but little by little, I think it will come to our country, ”added the source.

The general director of the Russian branch of the service noted that “there is no illegal housing on Booking.com.” Thus, each accommodation facility signs an agreement with the company, confirms the compliance of its activities with the requirements of Russian legislation, and undergoes a series of automated and manual checks aimed at ensuring security.

Earlier in August, Russia predicted a decline in prices for hotel services, followed by a fine for the Booking.com hotel booking service. According to the expert, this may happen due to a decrease in income from the monopolistic activities of the company.
