The 32nd Luso-Spanish Summit brings together this Thursday, in Trujillo, Spain, the governments of Portugal and Spain, who sign a new Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, and discuss the Recovery and Resilience Plans.
The program arrives at 12:00 (local time, 11:00 in Portugal), with the arrival, at the Castle of Trujillo, of the Portuguese prime minister, who will be obtained by the president of the Spanish government.
According to a note from the Portuguese Government, a meeting will have as its motto the “Sustainable mobility”, will make it possible “to go deeper into the actions carried out with the government of Spain on the interconnection between two important processes: the implementation of the Common Strategy for Transfrontier Development and the execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plans”.
Another high point at the summit in Trujillo, in Spanish Extremadura, will be the celebration of the new Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation, to be signed by António Costa and Pedro Sánchez, announced the Portuguese Government.
The work includes sectoral bilateral meetings, in which each minister meets with his counterpart from the other country, one of which is between the two heads of government, followed by a meeting between all members of the two delegations.
The program also includes a press conference by the two heads of government.
The new Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Portugal and Spain will update the previous agreement, from 1977, with the aim of strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity between the two European countries that had not long since reached freedom and democracy. long periods of dictatorship.

At the end of the summit, the meeting “The future of Europe” will take place, with 20 students from the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre and as many students from the University of Extremadura, from 17:00 (local time), in which António Costa and Pedro Sánchez will be present. .
