Double return is made by Art Athina, as it will be present, as last year, through the digital platform Art Athina Virtual, while the report Art Athina Pop Up, part of Art Athina Virtual, will give the art-loving public the opportunity to come to for life contact with artists and galleries, as a first link in the chain of reconnection with normalcy in the post-coronavirus era.

The Art Athina web portals through the renewed Art Athina Virtual platform (www.aavirtual.gr) will open on Monday, November 1, 2021 and MPs will have the opportunity to “browse” for free in 58 galleries and project spaces and get to know them artists and those who propose without any time limit, as Art Athina Virtual 2021 will be accessible on a 24-hour basis seven days a week until the end of November.

The group exhibition Art Athina Pop Up, will be hosted on the ground floor of the King George Hotel, in Syntagma Square, from November 12 to 21, curated by the artistic director of Art Athina, Stamatias Dimitrakopoulou. In this exhibition space that will operate with free admission and with the application of all prescribed health protocols, all participating art galleries and independent spaces in Art Athina Virtual, presented by a work of art, which is accompanied by a QR code.

Residents, by scanning the code of each work, will be able to automatically go to the digital booth of the gallery and get information about the artist and his work. The architectural design of the space has been undertaken by the office Objects of Common Interest based in New York and Athens.

Art Athina Virtual 2021 will not miss the parallel actions that have always framed the artistic program of the institution, gaining a stable audience that attends them. This year, the lecture program will take place live in the foyer of the Pallas Theater, under the artistic direction of Katerina Zacharopoulou, as well as the speech concerning the work of the annual educational program of Art Athina in collaboration with the I.F. Costopoulou and the Athens School of Fine Arts.

The performance program is signed by the curator, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and the Video / New Media Space category will not be limited to the Art Athina Virtual platform, but will also be accessible from the streets of Athens.

To enter both the Art Athina Pop Up venue and the venue where the speeches will take place, there must be a demonstration of a vaccination certificate or a disease certificate, issued 30 days after the first positive test and valid for 180 days.
