Albert II of Monaco targeted by anonymous online attacks: “That doesn’t impress me”
Albert II of Monaco is currently facing anonymous digital attacks. A website was created for ten days in an attempt to defame the sovereign of Monaco and several of his collaborators.
For several days, an anonymous website has hit the Monegasque country. “Les dossiers du Rocher” – this is the name of the site in question – intends to denounce the practices “Dhe Monegasque personalities, politicians and influential businessmen in Monaco who manipulate and influence the institutions of Monaco in their own interest “, can we read on the site.
Among those targeted, we find Albert II of Monaco but also certain relatives and collaborators of the sovereign, whose honesty and loyalty are called into question. Questioned by Monaco-Matin, Albert II responds to these attempts at destabilization. “With the greatest energy, I condemn this defamatory and anonymous campaign of false rumors and slander”, he told the regional daily. Before continuing: “These active manipulations from foreign sites protected by anonymity and using false names do not impress me, on the contrary. I stay the course and do not let myself be diverted from my agenda.”
An investigation has been opened to try to unmask the perpetrators of these digital attacks. According to Monaco-Matin, around ten websites owned by front companies and hosted in the United States and Iceland have already been identified.
