According to Deputy Mayor Stárka (ODS), he welcomes the construction on Vítězné náměstí Prague 6
The City Hall of Prague 6 welcomes the construction in the western part of Vítězné náměstí according to the deputy mayor of the sixth city district, Jakub Stárek (ODS). According to him, the development is planned for a long time and should complete the urban concept, as designed by the architect Antonín Engel in the 1920s. Offices and shops should be built on the land between the streets of Evropská and Jugoslávských partizánů.
“We are interested in the creation of quality architecture here (on the land near Vítězné náměstí), which will further elevate this location and bring benefits to local institutions and residents. Therefore, we have previously set a condition for the investor that the form of the future development will come from an international architectural competition, “said Deputy Mayor Stárek, who is responsible for territorial development and public space in six city districts.
The consortium of developers bought land with an area of 20.122 square meters for roughly one billion crowns, ie the majority of the buildable area of the so-called fourth quadrant of Vítězné náměstí between Evropská and Jugoslávských partizánů streets. The director of commercial construction of Penta Real Estate, Pavel Streblov, stated in a press release on Monday that a multifunctional development with plenty of greenery and public space should be created. According to him, the appearance of the development will come from an international architectural competition. Developers plan to announce it within one year, and then anticipate implementation by 2028.
According to Penta, part of the development should also be residential. Therefore, according to its deputy mayor, Prague 6 is ready to negotiate with the development on the creation of the necessary services and public facilities in the locality. According to Stárek, it is also planned to preserve space for farmers’ markets, which are now taking place in the square.
Victory Square was established in 1925 and has had several names since then, for example, from 1952 to 1990 it was called the October Revolution. Among Praguers, however, the name Kulaťák was adopted for him. The zoning plan of Prague has been planned for a long time.
