The discovery had anticipated serious concerns: “We sometimes discover other things like weapons in certain neighborhoods. But a bone! When I saw it I was immediately said that it was human”, a testified the employee who discovered the bone with The Dispatch.
Several hours of investigation
The affair had mobilized significant resources. Teams from the Toulouse Métropole water service went to the site, camera in support, to inspect the pumping system. One of the employees, dressed in a white jumpsuit, descended into the sewers harnessed to a wire. The checks around the manhole lasted long hours.
The report from the Forensic Institute, however, does not indicate how the bone got into this sewer.
