In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a resident of Bouwensstraat informed the police because he saw two men steal a bicycle. The suspects used for a grinding wheel. An intervention patrol arrived at the scene along with an anonymous car from the rapid response team.
When the two thieves notice the police combination at the intersection of Kroonstraat and Bleekhofstraat, they completely fled. The members of the rapid response team were able to stop and arrest without any problems.
“They were in possession of a grinding wheel and a chisel and admitted that they wanted to steal the two bicycles,” says Willem Migom of the Antwerp police zone. “In addition, they make it illegal to stay in our country. Both men were taken to the police station. The police technical service provided a new lock for the bike and left a message for the owners.”
