the French Communist Party will demonstrate on Thursday
Following the appeal of Fabien Roussel, candidate of the Communist Party (PCF) in the presidential election, a rally is planned this Thursday, October 28 in front of the prefecture of Toulouse to demand immediate measures in favor of purchasing power.
Members of French Communist Party (PCF) of Haute-Garonne will gather this Thursday, October 28, from 5 p.m., in front of the gates of the prefecture of the department, based in Toulouse (place Saint-Étienne). This demonstration follows the appeal of Fabien Roussel, candidate for the presidential election of the Communist Party, launched on October 18 on Franceinfo, in which he asks all French people to meet to “go back to the President of the Republic let anger growl ”. Indeed, the deputy from the North protests against the drop in purchasing power caused by the surge in the prices of basic necessities, such as energy, gas, electricity and fuels.
“We demand immediate action”
By this rally, the Communist Party wishes to challenge the government and demands the establishment of immediate measures “in favor of purchasing power”. He therefore asks:
- The reduction of 50 cents in the price of fuel by acting on the various taxes
- The 30% reduction in gas and electricity taxes
- The increase in wages, pensions and social minima
“Families and employees cannot take it any longer and the few checks torn from the government are not enough to respond to the real situation of millions of French women and men”, explain the Communists: “We must radically reorient wealth towards the satisfaction of communists needs of women, men, young people rather than always giving the rich and the financial markets ”. For all these reasons, Fabien Roussel maintains that it is no longer possible to wait for the next presidential election (which will take place next April, editor’s note), and that we must, therefore, mobilize today.
