Russia ups the climatic inequality index
Russia took the first place among 192 UN states. This does not mean that our country has the least amount of emissions, but that the damage from global warming will be a disproportionate amount of greenhouse gases emitted in the Russian Federation.
On the other end of the list were the top countries producing most of the extinction.
These are economically developed European states such as Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, the oil-producing countries of Kuwait and Bahrain, as well as the growing economies of Asia – Taiwan, Bangladesh and China. The United States is also located outside the top hundred.
According to scientists’ calculations, most of the sources of greenhouse gases measured by humans are determined between 30 and 55 degrees north latitude, the most pronounced effect of the warming caused by emissions is felt north of 60 degrees north latitude in the Arctic region. The maximum contrast of this imbalance of the code on the political map of the world is visible if we compare the densely populated regions of Western Europe, Southeast Asia and North America with the sparsely populated northern countries – Russia, Canada and Finland. The latter produce relatively little greenhouse gases, but in the decade faced the largest increase in average temperatures on their territory.
