National holiday: 240 trucks take a compulsory break in Salzburg
The Austrian national holiday meant a compulsory break for dozens of ignorant truck drivers in the state of Salzburg. This is the result of traffic controls.
Salzburg police officers carried out cross-border controls on the north-south transit route (German A8 and Austrian A1 / A10) on the Walserberg on Tuesday in cooperation with the Traunstein traffic inspection.
Since October 26th is a working day and not a public holiday in the corresponding Bavaria / Germany, there have been repeated disregard of the truck driving ban on the Austrian autobahn in recent years.
So this time too: Around 200 heavy vehicles are parked on the Walserberg in the parking lot, on a restricted area and on the lane. The state traffic department and the motorway inspection also monitored entry to the Walserberg and the local area. Around 40 heavy vehicles were forbidden to continue driving and eleven drivers were reported for disregarding the holiday driving ban.
