Monaco recruits Dwayne Bacon from NBA
Monaco has secured the services of American winger Dwayne Bacon who played last season in Orlando in the NBA, announced the Principality’s club. The 26-year-old posted his best year in the North American league last year averaging 11 points and 3 rebounds for 25 minutes per game.
“Monaco is a young team with a lot of ambitions and that made me want to join this group (…). I also needed on a personal level to continue playing games at a very high level, knowing that in the NBA this prospect was quite complicated lately.“Says Dwayne Bacon, quoted in a statement released Tuesday by his new club.
The former Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets join a Monegasque workforce already rich in ex-NBA players between star rookie Mike James, who passed through the Brooklyn Nets in 2021, and Donatas Motiejunas, seen in particular with the Houston Rockets jersey.
To compete in the Euroleague again next season, the Roca Team are aiming for participation in the play-offs via a place in the top eight of the regular season. With a third success, Tuesday against the Red Star of Belgrade (70-62), Monaco equalized its record before the reception of one of the favorites of the competition, CSKA Moscow on Friday.
