Missing 24-year-old Jona Elia from Salzburg: Now the Federal Criminal Police Office is searching
A 24-year-old man from the city of Salzburg has been missing for almost five weeks. His mother informed the police about her son’s disappearance on September 23.
As it was known that Jona Elia liked to stay on Untersberg near Fürstenbrunn, a search was started in September, which also included alpine police, mountain rescuers, search dogs, the Red Cross and volunteers from the cave rescue service. The mission was unsuccessful. The police are investigating in all directions.
The Federal Criminal Police Office has now published a manhunt for the 24-year-old. The young man, born in Graz, is 1.88 meters tall and slim. He has blue eyes and brown hair of medium length. The Salzburg City Police Command asks the population for information on 0043 59 133 55 3333.
Jona Elia was most recently dressed in black jeans, a brown jacket and black sneakers. He had a black backpack with him. The police have already received some information. “The information did not lead to the determination of his whereabouts,” said a spokeswoman for the Salzburg state police department to the APA on Monday.
The reason for his disappearance remains unclear. Currently, investigators cannot rule out that the missing person may have been a victim of an accident, crime, or that he may have committed suicide. It is also possible that he is abroad.
On the Wanted page of the Federal Criminal Police Office four adults and four children are currently listed as missing.
