The head of the Ministry of Ukraine stressed that no matter how fast the actions of the German regulator are, the key is to involve the European Commission in the process.
“The ultimate goal is to use the Third Energy Package for the operation of Nord Stream-2,” the diplomat said.
He also commented on recent statements by Amos Hochstein, a senior US State Department official on energy security. According to the latter, if Russia has gas for supplies to Europe, but it decides to supply it only when Europe meets the requirements, it is absolutely not related, it will be difficult to argue that it does not use gas as a weapon.
“He actually said more diplomatically, but called things by their names – it’s a question of Russia’s use of gas as a weapon. It is more or less obvious for everyone now, “Kuleba said.
