KYIV. October 27. UNN. Ukraine is holding on to the strength of the German Ministry of Economy and Energy regarding the “2nd stream” and will bring its position to the German partners. About it during a briefing on Wednesday the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleb, answering questions of the correspondent UNN.
As for the conclusion of the decision of the German regulator of the Ministry of Economy and there is a regulator – ed.), We are sick. This is Naftogaz’s position on this issue, for example, a company that has succeeded in this process. “We will prove our position to the German partners and we will ask them and work with them to ensure that the decisions on Nord Stream 2 are not approved hastily, quickly, without careful analysis and study,” the minister said.
The head of the Ministry of Ukraine stressed that no matter how fast the actions of the German regulator are, the key is to involve the European Commission in the process.
“The ultimate goal is to use the Third Energy Package for the operation of Nord Stream-2,” the diplomat said.
He also commented on recent statements by Amos Hochstein, a senior US State Department official on energy security. According to the latter, if Russia has gas for supplies to Europe, but it decides to supply it only when Europe meets the requirements, it is absolutely not related, it will be difficult to argue that it does not use gas as a weapon.
“He actually said more diplomatically, but called things by their names – it’s a question of Russia’s use of gas as a weapon. It is more or less obvious for everyone now, “Kuleba said.
The German Ministry of Economy and Energy has provided the German regulator with official bulletins that the certification of Nord Stream-2 does not threaten the security of gas supply in Germany and other European Union countries.
As an employee of Naftogaz Ukrainy, Yuriy Vitrenko was not even consulted with Ukraine on this issue.
The Nord Stream-2 operator has been granted the status of an independent transmission system operator in order to launch the necessary pre-licensing regulator, which in German has applied for Nord Stream 2.
Earlier it became known that the application for participation in the process of certification of the Nord Stream-2 operator was submitted by Naftogaz and OGTSU.
