European project Musa for young musicians completes stages in Lisbon and Mafra – Showbiz
“The program focuses on the interdisciplinarity between the arts, in particular between music and other cultural areas, such as architecture, design and the fine arts, and all activities are conducted by renowned professionals from the different disciplines addressed”, formal communication from the organization.
Musa – European Young Musicians Soft Skills Alliance is a professional training project, string quartets made up of young musicians up to 35 years old, developed in partnership by Le Dimore del Quartetto, the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) and the Center for Research on Management and Economics of the Art and Culture Institutions (ASK) in Italy, the ProQuartet – Center Européen de Musique de Chambre and La Ferme de Villefavard, in France, and by provadesign, in Portugal.
Next Thursday, starting at 7 pm, at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT), in Lisbon, an experimental piece created for the Musa residency in Portugal will be presented, entitled “In Situ”, coordinated by Vitor Joaquim and Rui Cat. Quator Malinconia presents “Dimensions”, by Garth Knox, and the Adagio do Quartet in A minor (opus 41), by Robert Schumann.
The program at MAAT also features the Antarja Quartet, which will play Felix Mendelssohn’s Quartet No. 2 in A minor (Opus 01) (Adagio – Allegro vivace), and the Alinea Quartt who will interpret the three movements of Quartet n. º 7 in F sharp minor (opus 108), by Dmitri Shostakovich, composed in memory of the composer’s wife, and the fourth movement, Vif et agité, from the Quartet in F major, by Maurice Ravel.
Quator Malinconia and Antarja present the pieces played in Lisbon, on Saturday, from 11:00 am, at Palácio de Mafra, district of Lisbon.
