Shooting: 5x gold for Kufstein’s air pistol shooters at ÖM in Innsbruck
This year, the Austrian championships and state championships for air rifles were not held separately – as originally planned – in Salzburg (air pistol) and Tyrol (air rifle). Both competition events were merged and held in the last week of October at the Federal Training Center in Innsbruck.
It all started with the air pistol shooters, who died from October 23. – 26.10.2021 were launched. Afterwards, from October 27th – 31.10.2021 the titles among Austria’s best air rifle shooters are awarded.
This year, the Austrian national champions will be chosen for both air rifles and air pistols in the individual and team competitions in the women’s and men’s classes, as well as in the mixed team competitions.
In the women’s category, Tanya Antonevic (SG Wörgl) competed for the first time with the LP5 at an Austrian championship this year, and she did so very successfully: with 347 rings, she not only won the senior class 1, but also one ring the previous one Austrian record set by Ulrike Springer in 2016.
Antonevic was also able to repeat her success with the LP1: she won the senior class 1 with 365 rings and again set an Austrian record! Vroni Mairhofer (SG Ötz) achieved 3rd place with 354 rings and thus the bronze medal. Together with Petra Kiermaier (SG Erl), the women’s team also wins the team standings and was able to set a new national record.
Club colleague Sigmund Auer (SG Wörgl) was also able to win points in senior class 2: He won gold with 367 rings, relegating Gerald Hörmann (Vienna) and Gerhard Böhm (Salzburg) to the places. With a lead of just one ring, Tirol also wins the team standings ahead of the team from Vienna.
With 377 rings in the standing discipline, Karin Spötzl (SG Breitenbach) was able to win 2nd place in senior class 1 and thus another medal for Tyrolean shooters that day.
The air rifle competitions were then held from October 28th to October 31st. also carried out at the Federal Training Center in Innsbruck.
