“Over a million hundreds of people have been vaccinated. We know that adverse events are one per million vaccines delivered. In the Russian Federation, no one has died as a result of an acute reaction to the vaccination, ”he said.
Gushchin also noted that developers can change the vaccine for each new strain. However, according to him, this is not necessary, as “the old vaccine works effectively, that there is absolutely no point in changing it.”
On October 25, the Russian Ministry of Health authorized the vaccination of breastfeeding women. Nursing mothers were excluded from the list of persons for whom vaccination with Sputnik V is contraindicated.
Previously, WHO recommended that pregnant and lactating women get vaccinated against COVID-19. They emphasized that after vaccination, breastfeeding is necessary, immunity from the virus.
