The Russian government almost doubled the forecast for the migration growth rate in 2021 – from 14.3 to 27.3. This means that the number of foreigners may increase by 398 thousand people. This figure is a record for the last 25 years.

Last time, the migration increase was 400 thousand in 1996, in 2020 the figure was 106 thousand, in seven months the current one exceeded 160 thousand. Almost all migrants, 155 thousand, arrived in the country from neighboring countries, the leaders are Tajikistan (38 thousand), Ukraine (26 thousand) and Armenia (20 thousand). In 2022, the increase should be 212 thousand people, and in 2023-2024 – 235 thousand.

Moreover, despite the positive balance of transmission, the population of Russia will still decline, by 2025 the rate is less by about 1.6 million people. This forecast was given by the government, according to “News“.
