ŘSD: ÚOHS rejected Metrostav’s complaint, construction of Svitavy bypass will start on the threshold of the new year
In addition to motorists, the relocation brings relief especially to the inhabitants of Svitavy, today’s road in the city is tight.
The Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) rejected Metrostav Infrastructure’s proposal to cancel the tender for the Svitavy bypass (I / 43 Hradec nad Svitavou – Lačnov). The head of the Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD), Radek Mátl, announced. According to him, road workers can thus choose a contractor.
Metrostav Infrastructure seeks the cancellation of the tender due to its non-transparency. The Directorate of Roads and Motorways (ŘSD) received six bids, with the lowest price for almost ten kilometers of the new road coming from the association of companies Eurovia and M-Silnice. Its offer of 786.9 million is at 63 percent of the estimated price (CZK 1.25 billion).
“The building permit should be issued at the beginning of November, we expect the start of construction at the beginning of 2022,” told the daily Zdopravy.cz Mátl. It should be done in 2023.
In addition to motorists, the relocation brings relief especially to residents living near the existing roads I / 43, I / 34 and II / 366, which pass through the city centers closely enclosed by buildings. In addition, the I / 43 road passes through narrow and low underpasses under the Brno – Česká Třebová and Žďárec u Skutče – Svitavy lines. The underpasses are listed as a traffic defect. The new road with the tracks will not cross at all.
The new building will measure almost ten kilometers, and will include eight bridges, two level crossings and six noise walls. Road I / 43 is the main connection between Eastern Bohemia and Brno.
