News about further education

The FE News Channel provides you with the latest training news and updates on emerging training strategies and #FutureofEducation and #FutureofWork.

Since 2003, we have been providing reliable and positive continuing education news and shows, and we are a digital news channel with a mix of written word articles, podcasts and videos. Our specialization gives you a mix of the latest educational news, our attitude is always positive, sector-building and shares different perspectives and views from thought leaders, to give you a think tank with new ideas and solutions to bring together the education sector and come up with new innovative solutions and ideas.

FE News publishes exclusive peer-to-peer-minded leadership articles from our film writers, as well as user-generated content in our network of over 3,000 newsrooms, and offers several sources for the latest educational news in the education and employability sectors.

FE News also broadcasts live events, podcasts with leading experts and thought leaders, webinars, video interviews and news bulletins for further training so you get the latest developments in News about competence and in the sectors of apprenticeships, further training and employability.

Every week, FE News has over 200 articles and new content per week. We are a news channel that provides the latest continuing education news, providing insights from several sources on the latest developments in education policy, the latest strategies, to our thought leaders who provide thinking strategies for blue skies, best practices and innovation to help look into it future developments in education and future work.

In January 2021, FE News had over 173,000 unique visitors according to Google Analytics and over 200 new news content every week, from articles on thought leadership to the latest educational news via written words, podcasts, video to press releases from across the sector, placing us among the 2,000 best sites in the UK.

We thought it would be helpful to explain how we break down our latest educational news content and how you can get involved and understand how to read the latest daily news on continuing education and how we structure our FE week with content:

Key features

Our main functions are exclusive and are articles on thought leadership and blue sky thinking with experts who write peer-to-peer news articles about the education of the future and the work of the future. The focus is on solution-driven thought leadership, sharing of best practices, innovation and emerging strategy. These are often articles about the education of the future and the work of the future, they often create future educational news articles. We limit our main features to a maximum of 20 per week, as they are often about new concepts and new thought processes. Our main features are also exclusive articles that respond to the latest education news, perhaps an insight from an expert in a policy message or response to a report from an education think tank or a white paper.

FE Voices

FE Voices was originally created as a section on FE News to give a voice back to the sector. Since we now have over 3,000 newsrooms and contributors, FE Voices are usually articles on leadership, they do not necessarily have to be exclusive, but they are usually slightly shorter than Main Features. FE Voices can include more mixed media with continuing education news articles, such as embedded podcasts and videos. Our sector response articles that ask for different comments and opinions on education policy announcements or respond to a report from the White Paper are usually kept in the FE Voices section. If we have a live podcast on an evening or a radio program like the SkillsWorldLive radio program, the next morning we place the FE podcast recording in the FE Voices section.

Sector news

In sector news, we have a mix of content from press releases, educational resources, reports, educational research, white papers from a number of contributors. We have many positive educational news articles from universities, award-winning organizations and apprenticeship providers, press releases from DfE to think tanks that provide an overview of a report, to useful resources to help you deliver educational strategies to your students.

Podcasts

We have a range of training podcasts on FE News, from hour-long full-production FE podcasts such as SkillsWorldLive in collaboration with the Federation of Awarding Bodies, to weekly podcasts from experts and thought leaders, who provide advice and guidance to leaders. FE News also records podcasts at conferences and events, giving you one-on-one podcasts with education and skills experts on the latest strategies and developments.

We have over 150 training podcasts on FE News, ranging from EdTech podcasts with experts discussing Education 4.0 and how technology complements and transforms education, to podcasts with experts discussing educational research, future work, how to develop skills systems for future jobs to interviews with the Minister of Apprenticeships and Competence.

We record our own exclusive FE News podcasts, collaborate with sector partners such as FAB to create weekly podcasts and daily training podcasts, to work with sector leaders and create exclusive training news podcasts.

Training video interviews

FE News has over 700 FE video interviews and has been recording educational video interviews with experts for over 12 years. These are usually vox pop video interviews with experts in education and work, where ideas and views on the future of education and work are discussed.

event

FE News has a free event calendar to check out the latest conferences, webinars and events to keep you up to date with the latest training news and strategies.

FE newsroom

FE Newsroom is home to your content if you are a FE News contributor. It also helps the audience develop relationships with either you as an individual or your organization as they can click through and “box set” to consume all your previous articles on leadership, latest press releases on educational news, videos and educational podcasts.

Do you want to contribute, share your ideas or visions or share a press release?

If you want to write an article on thought leadership, share your ideas and visions for future education or future work, write a press release where you share the latest educational news or contribute to a podcast, you must first create a FE Newsroom login (which is free): once the team has approved your newsroom (all content, all newsrooms are approved by a member of the FE News team – no robots are used in this process!), you can start adding content (again, all articles are approved, videos and podcasts by the FE News editorial staff before going live on FE News). Since all newsrooms and content are approved by the FE News team, there will be a slight delay for the team to review and approve content.
