ICE Hockey League: Znojmo brings Salzburg to its knees – winter sports – ice hockey

In the 13th round of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, Znojmo celebrated a 3-1 home win against Red Bull Salzburg.
The home side start the game well and come in the first dangerous minutes in front of the goal of Salzburg goalkeeper Tolvanen. In the 7th minute, the majority of the Czechs also hit the target. Svoboda (7./PP) sinks the rebound in the goal and makes it 1-0. However, the bulls managed to equalize quickly in just a few seconds. Järvinen (7th) scores from the slot. With the 1: 1 it goes into the first break.
The first minutes of the middle section belong to the Salzburgers, but they fail to score. In the course of the second third, however, it is the home side who die, increase the pressure and find good opportunities. Salzburg is lucky when Prokes (33rd) and Luciani (36th) hit the crossbar, it stays at 1: 1.
In the final third, both teams do not want to risk anything for the time being, then Salzburg turns up, but can not crack Znojmo’s defense. On the other hand, Luciani (48th) and Zubov (50th) cannot beat goalkeeper Tolvanen.
After a defensive mistake by Salzburg, Luciani (52nd) runs alone towards Tolvanen and pushes the target through the legs of the goalkeeper – 2: 1!
Salzburg risks everything, but can no longer equalize. Culkin (60./EN) made everything clear with an empty net hit. Znojmo wins 3-1.
Znojmo is in sixth place with 21 points after 13 games. Salzburg are one point ahead of the Czechs in many games.
