“The analysis of our territory makes us understand that we have young people prepared and with a very high profile. Pisa has, in terms of residents, more researchers than any other Italian city. This set of ideas and potential for innovation, unfortunately, goes away hence creating development in other contests, including foreign “, is the analysis of Fabio Beltram, president of the Pisana Foundation for Science and physics teacher at the Scuola Normale. Beltram explains the new mission of FPS, which in addition to research in the medical field has received from the Pisa Foundation the responsibility of being a bridge between business and research. The goal is to trigger that process of which the Pisan territory has a strong need, to create in practice an even more incisive link between production realities and acquired knowledge. The measure of all this will be merit.
“Our ‘new assignment’ will be to keep a part of the skills and ideas of our researchers here and away so that they become an engine of development for local realities. Well the needs of the territory: that’s why Uip, ISI, Agricoltori. How will it work?” We will provide scholarships to support young recent graduates or new doctorates for a period of testing on the real field of the business world. Recent graduates and new doctorates are the people who want to connect with the business world. We intend to immediately recognize the professionalism of these people and support them with one that is appropriate to their skills: instead of choosing to start their professional career in contexts outside the territory, we want them to do it from here “.
