Greece: What changes with the self tests in schools from November 1st
From Monday, November 1, 2021, it is put into operation for the public school units of the edupass.gov.gr platform, which is an additional tool for its health shield for the operation of public educational structures.
Thanks to edupass.gov.gr, the principal of the school unit who can at any time confirm that within the school unit are only persons (students, teachers / members of Ε.Ε.Π.-Ε.Β.Π. , cities), which meet the requirements of physical presence in life educational process.
The platform currently concerns only the schools of public primary education, secondary education and special education.
The platform integrates all the functions of self-testing.gov.gr and the process of issuing the School Card for COVID-19. The parents / guardians of the students / three who study in private schools will continue to declare the result of the self-tests on the self-testing.gov.gr platform and issue the school card for COVID-19, following exactly the same procedure as follow to this day.
It is pointed out that the self-test that must be declared on 28-29 / 10/2021 by the parents / guardians of students who attend public schools, will be declared – for the last time – on the platform self-testing.gov.gr.
Obliged to submit to the edupass.gov.gr platform a statement of participation with physical presence in life educational process in public schools are: (a) students, (b) the teaching staff and the Special Teaching Staff (Ε.Ε.Π. .) and Special Auxiliary Personnel (SUPs), (c) any other natural person who participates with physical presence in any kind of educational process carried out within the countries of the public educational structure (“visitors”), such as for example . students doing internships in the school unit.
The obligors or the parents / guardians of the obligees enter the platform and declare their intention to be physically present at the school premises, requesting that their status be sent to the window of their school unit.
A) In case the obligors have been vaccinated or who have become ill within the last six months, this declaration must be made only once and
B) in case they undergo a diagnostic (rapid / PCR) or self-diagnostic test (self test), the declaration must be made as many times as needed from the current framework, e.g. for students who have not been vaccinated / ill within the last semester, the corresponding statement to edupass.gov.gr must be submitted twice a week.
It is reminded that edupass.gov.gr in the first phase started a few weeks ago for the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and its goal is to participate in the protection of public health, but also in the simplification of control procedures for compliance with health protocols.
The new platform is the result of the cooperation of the Ministries of Education and Religions and Digital Governance and is accessible from gov.gr. It was implemented by the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures (EDYTE SA – GRNET), a supervised body of the Ministry of Digital Government, while the data collection is created by the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat of Information Systems of Public Administration and.
