ALL ANTWERP. “My husband has thirty thousand stamps… (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Suzanne Westers (86).
“We didn’t go out all day yesterday. We have been inside for almost two years because of corona, that becomes a person over time. My husband and I have a good time at home. He is always busy with his stamps. He recently got another five thousand so he is even sweet again. He has a collection of more than thirty thousand stamps. He puts them all neatly in their place in large books. Every stamp counts for him and he can say of every stamp he has or not yet. He has been doing this since he was 14 years old and he just turned 91. Turns out to be a perfect corona hobby. I’ll let him do it, I don’t know anything about it myself. He is good.”
“I am involved in puzzles, I prefer to make word puzzles. Six star Continuous. I don’t buy seven stars anymore, the questions are asked there without vowels, can you imagine? That doesn’t bother me. So I dropped a star. When my husband is busy with his stamps and I am puzzling, we are very quiet. There should not even be music from television in the background. They don’t give anything on TV anymore anyway. Total rust with us.” (rvre)
